FAQs

Our Space

What time can I check in?

Check-in will begin at 2:30pm, please note candle lighting is at 4:50pm, so we would like everybody to check in before that time. If you arrive after sundown, please visit the front desk to check in. Please be in touch with any questions regarding late check-in.

What time is check-out?
Check-out on Sunday, February 2nd, begins at 10:30am, and ends 11:00am, latest. If you plan to leave after Havdallah on Saturday night, please let us know so we can plan for breakfast accordingly.

What will our space look like?
Our Shabbaton will take place about a 1-1.5 hour drive from Beth El Synagogue Center.

Our programs will take place in community rooms on the lower level, with lodgings on the second level.

  • Prayer Space (Lincoln Room)
  • Communal Space (Senate Room)
  • Dining Space (Garden Room)
  • Kids’ Space (Liberty Room)

What will rooming be like?
Our community will have rooms located on the second floor, accessible by stairs and elevator. If you need a cot or Pack & Play and have not already been in touch with us, please reach out.

Food

What will meals look like?
We will enjoy as a community Kabbalat Shabbat Dinner, breakfasts, Shabbat lunch, Shabbat Third Meal (Seudat Shlishit), and dinner after Havdallah. Please see the program for details. Seating will be open and unassigned.

Should I bring my own snacks?
We will provide potato chips, nuts, pretzels, fruit, cookies, and granola bars. If you have specific needs beyond these options, we encourage you to bring your own snacks to supplement our selection.  Snacks will be available throughout the weekend in the Dining Space. Each room has a small refrigerator.

Comfort

What clothes do you recommend I pack?
We recommend good walking shoes, comfortable clothing including an extra warm layer for outdoor walks, bathing suits for those who want to go swimming, and business casual Shabbat attire (no need to be too fancy).

What else should I pack?
Please bring any needed medications, kippot, tallit, tefillin, and toiletries. If you have games you would like to contribute to the community fun, please bring them along!

Sacred Space

Cell phones
In observance of Shabbat, we respectfully request that you refrain from using your electronic devices in communal spaces during Shabbat.

Please share any photos and videos you document outside of Shabbat time with us in this Google Drive folder that we’ll include in The Bulletin!

What will programs look like?
Our programs will be a mix of facilitated study sessions, services, words of Torah, opportunities for mindfulness, fun experiences for all, and community gatherings.

I have other questions.
