DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR (part-time, 25 hours per week)
Beth El Synagogue Center (Beth El) is a large, multi-generational, egalitarian congregation, located in New Rochelle, New York and affiliated with the United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism.
Beth El is a vibrant and active congregation that provides a wide range of religious, educational, social and community activities for all ages, allowing congregants to engage in Jewish heritage and explore all aspects of Jewish life.
Beth El relies on membership income from its 500 member households and tuition from nursery school, religious school and day camp programs. Increasingly, philanthropy over-and-above membership and tuition will be needed to fill gaps between income and expenses. In 2020, the annual Kol Nidre Appeal was renamed The B’Yachad Campaign and raised over $700,000 to cover extraordinary costs and reduced income during the pandemic. Going forward, The B’Yachad Campaign will be Beth El’s annual appeal. In addition, the annual gala has been a way to raise additional funds and engage the community.
