Support Groups

Now, more than ever, it is important to make sure that we are taking care of our own mental health. We have been working with the community to offer groups for those who may need some additional support during the coronavirus crisis. See contact information below or head to for upcoming meetings.

Beth El Support Group

If you need support managing your anxiety and fears since the onset of the COVID-19 crisis, join WJCS social worker, Sarah Lieberman, LMSW in our new support group. Registration is limited. RSVP to Abby Wise at

Health Professionals Support Group

Rabbi Schuck is leading a support group for Beth El members who are health care professionals currently working in any capacity in which they feel the added stress and burden of the current situation. The group meets on Sundays from 7:00pm-8:00pm on Zoom. This group is limited to 10 people and is currently full. If you are interested in joining a second group, email

Parenting Support Group

We are forming a parent support group for parents of children 5-18 who have any sort of special need--be it a learning issue, a physical or intellectual disability, mental illness, long-term medical issues, etc. At the current time, we recognize that there are parents who may not previously have categorized their child(ren) in this way, but who may now need additional support as well; you are also welcome! The immediate focus of the group will be on supporting our children through the current crisis; moving forward, we will focus more specifically on parenting children with different needs in the context of the Jewish Community. The group will be led by WJCS social worker, Brenda Haas. This group will be limited to ten participants, who will be added to the group in order of response. For the time being, we will meet via Zoom. To begin, we will meet every other week for five weeks, beginning the first week of May. Children of Aging Parents Group

Providing a safe space to support each other in caring for aging parents with dignity and love. Facilitated by "Partners in Caring" social worker, Shari Baum. Held on the 4th Thursday of the month at 7:30pm (except for holidays). Questions and to RSVP, contact Erica Epstein at

Grief Support

In these uncertain times of physical distancing, grievers are feeling more alone and isolated than ever. Human connection and support are crucial to those who are grieving. WJCS is here to support you. If you would like to speak with a social worker privately this can be done via telephone or zoom. WJCS will also be taking registrations for a virtual support group. Sisterhood Support Group
