Updated Shiva Information: The passing of Marvin Schuck, father of Rabbi David Schuck

We can fulfill the mitzvah of "nichum aveilim" (comforting mourners) in several ways. One of the most common ways is to sit with a mourner throughout shiva to keep them company during the most intense period of mourning.

Rabbi Schuck and his family are comforted by the warmth and compassion of our Beth El Community. They are deeply grateful for the outpouring of care, concern and love during this difficult time. We ask that you to please limit your visits to posted shiva hours, listed below, and to keep your visit succinct.

Rabbi Schuck will be sitting shiva for his father, Marvin Schuck (z"l), at his sister's home (Shira and Stuart Sklar), 509 Kings Drive, Cherry Hill, NJ 08003 according to the following schedule:

Saturday, November 9, 6:30pm-8:30pm

Sunday, November 10, 1:30pm-5:30pm, with minyan at 4:30pm

Shiva will continue at Rabbi Schuck and Tali's home, 47 Taymil Road, New Rochelle, NY 10804:

Monday, November 11, 4:15pm-7:15pm, minyan at 4:30pm

Tuesday, November 12, 4:15pm-7:15pm, minyan at 4:30pm

Shiva visits are not the only way to fulfill the mitzvah of "nichum aveilim" (comforting mourners).

You may send a thoughtful card or message of support without expectation of a reply.

For those who would like to make a donation in honor of Marvin, the family would find it meaningful for donations to be made to the Rabbi's Discretionary Fund, or to the Rabbi's Discretionary Fund specifically designated for the mental health initiative. If you would like to make a donation you can do so by clicking here.

May they be comforted among the mourners of Zion and Jerusalem.
