Limmud Class: Tilting at Whirlwinds: A Time for Weeping and a Time for Laughing
Traditional Biblical/Talmudic Views & Themes in Great Literature
Taught by Rabbi David Schuck and Dr. Carol Diament.
The morning begins with coffee. Dr. Carol Diament's session begins promptly at 9:45am, and Rabbi Schuck's session begins promptly at 11:00am. Carol Diament, Ph.D., directed the National Department of Jewish Education at Hadassah from 1986 to 2004. In 1991, the department was awarded the Shazar Prize for Excellence in Jewish Education in the Diaspora from the President of the State of Israel. Before coming to Hadassah, Dr. Diament was Professor of Jewish History at Queens College. She earned her doctorate at Yeshiva University, the first woman to have completed a doctorate in Jewish Studies there. She received the Simon Rockower Award for Excellence in Journalism. She has edited numerous Hadassah books and study guides, including “Moonbeams,” “Ribcage,” and “Pray Tell." In retirement, she has been busy lecturing and teaching in Westchester County.
