YOM KIPPUR 9/15-9/16

MAIN SANCTUARY, TRADITIONAL SERVICE

KOL NIDRE     9/15: 6:45PM

YOM KIPPUR  9/16:  9AM  |  YIZKOR APPROXIMATELY: 10:45AM

The Main Sanctuary service, led by our clergy, will be similar to past High Holidays services, with davening and the Torah service being led from the main bimah and seating situated from the front of the sanctuary proper all the way back to the windows of the Fayer ballroom. However, capacity will be approximately half of a normal year, and instead of long rows, the chairs will be arranged in pods of 2-6 contiguous seats with many additional aisles and more space between rows. This will allow us to accommodate for increased distance between people and the ability to move around without being on top of one another.

OUTDOOR TENT, TRADITIONAL SERVICE

KOL NIDRE     9/15: 6:30PM

YOM KIPPUR  9/16:  9AM  |  YIZKOR APPROXIMATELY: 10:45AM

This service, in the tent that was erected earlier this year in the rear parking lot closer to the Ursuline School, will run parallel to the Main Sanctuary service. Tefilah will be led by Rabbi Ben Perlstein, a recent graduate of JTS Rabbinical School who has years of experience as an inspirational High Holiday Shaliach Tzibur (service leader) and who has been affiliated with centers of Jewish spirituality such as Romemu Yeshiva and the Hadar Institute. Rabbi Perlstein will at all times be joined by Rabbis Schuck, Sitkin or Fisher, who will alternate days officiating in this service as they have always done with our parallel service. Cantor Gaby Schvartz will lead Shacharit in the tent until the Torah service.

OUTDOOR TENT, FAMILY SERVICE

KOL NIDRE     9/15: 6:45PM

YOM KIPPUR  9/16:  10AM|  YIZKOR AT END OF SERVICE

Designed for families with children 6-11. All other ages welcome! Parents must attend with children.

Beth El’s new family service is an opportunity for children and their families to enrich their High Holiday experience together. This service is a space to pray, play, learn, ask questions, and grow as we thoughtfully navigate our way through the high holiday liturgy. This highly participatory service includes singing our way through the machzor, an interactive Torah reading, a D’var Torah from Rabbis Sitkin and Fisher, and many other fun activities interspersed throughout. Join us for a meaningful High Holiday experience designed for the entire family! This service will include a Yizkor service at the conclusion of the service.

TEEN SERVICE

YOM KIPPUR  9/16:  10AM

For Kol Nidre, teens will participate in the Torah processional in the Main Sanctuary. The teen service will incorporate elements of High Holiday liturgy and Torah service, as well as interactive, peer-facilitated discussions. Tickets are not required for this service, and it is in addition to the choice of main service above. If your teen(s) would like a specific role in the services (e.g., leading a part of the service or reading Torah), please contact Cantor Schvartz at gschvartz@bethelnr.org.
