Covid-19 Information

Below please find our COVID-19 safety protocols as of May 12, 2023. Because the situation is ever-changing, this page may be updated without advance notice.

Yesterday marked the end of the federal COVID-19 Public Health Emergency declaration. As a nation, we now find ourselves at a different point in the pandemic – with more tools and resources than ever before to better protect ourselves and our communities. Beth El is therefore revising our Covid protocols to reflect the improved state of the pandemic. Most notably, vaccination is no longer required to attend Beth El programs and services. We will continue to have a Mask Only section in our sanctuary and at large events to ensure the comfort of our members.

Health Awareness

It is critical that you monitor how you and your children are feeling before coming to Beth El. If you are experiencing any symptoms of ill health, you must not come to the building, even if people are relying on you to make a minyan, participate in a service or just to keep them company. Health for you and our community comes first, and we will adjust to your absence.

If you recently had Covid, please follow CDC guidelines with respect to returning to Beth El.

Vaccination

Vaccination is not required to attend Beth El programs and services. We encourage our members to protect themselves from severe infection by remaining up to date on Covid vaccinations.

Masking

Masks are optional at Beth El. We encourage those who feel more comfortable wearing a mask to do so.

However, if you had Covid and have finished your period of isolation, as per CDC guidelines, you must wear a well fitting mask (N95 or KN95) through day 10. If you have been exposed to someone with Covid, you must wear a well fitting mask for 10 days following the last date of exposure, as per the CDC guidelines.

Sanctuary

We will continue to have a Mask Only section in our sanctuary and at large events to ensure the comfort of our members.

Please be sensitive to those who are not comfortable sitting next to someone outside of their immediate household by first asking if it’s okay to sit next to them.
