We light one additional candle each night of Hanukkah, so that with each day of the holiday we bring more light into the world.

This year, we want to transform all of that radiant light into action that will touch our community beyond the walls of Beth El.

We hope you will join us on Sunday, December 5th for our Hanukkah Day of Chesed. See below for more details on the schedule.

In addition to volunteering opportunities at Beth El, we will collect toys for HOPE Community Services to give to their clients. Stop by during Hanukkah to drop off gifts in the box by the front office.

If you would like to donate towards the cost of food ingredients and supplies that will be used at our Day of Chesed to cook meals for HOPE and package craft kits for hospitalized children--even $1 for each day of Hanukkah!-- you can Click Here to Donate.

8:15am Minyan for Hanukkah and Rosh Chodesh. Sign up for minyan here.

9:00am-1:30pm Blood Drive
We are proud to serve as a site for a New York Blood Center drive. Click here for details and to reserve a timeslot to donate blood.

11am-12pm Volunteer opportunities for youth and families
Families will be divided by grade (K-7) for a range of volunteer projects all over the building--from packaging craft kits for hospitalized children to cooking a meal for HOPE and more. For Religious School students, K-2 are encouraged to remain after their usual class time ends and 3-7 grade will volunteer for their last hour of class. Click here to register your family.

If you do not have children in grades K-7 and want to help out, let us know by registering here.

3:30-4:15pm Learning
As the rabbis taught us in Masechet Kiddushin, “Study is great because it leads to action.” We will anchor our Day of Chesed with learning before minyan. Register for in-person learning here.

4:20pm Minyan and Hanukkah Candle Lighting
After bringing light into the world through our actions, we will conclude the day with minyan, lighting candles for the final night of Hanukkah, and singing together. After minyan, everyone is invited to join us across the street at Mikey Dubbs! Sign up for minyan here.
