MLK Day Volunteer Opportunities with J-Teen Leadership Feelings Kits Pick-Up, Monday 1/17, 11am-12:30pm, J-Teen Leadership/UJA Westchester Parking Lot (925 Westchester Ave): Teen volunteers are invited to pick up the supplies to make bilingual (English and Spanish) feelings kits for young children. Many young children have had their social-emotional learning disrupted by the pandemic the inability to go to school in person during a critical time in their emotional development. The kits will include a bilingual book about feelings, emotions flash cards, emoji puppets, and each volunteer will purchase a NEW, SMALL stuffed animal to add to the kit.
Volunteers will have the week to work on making the kits, and will drop off the kits on Sunday 1/23 (more details will be sent out) Masks will be required outside in the parking lot Participants must register here.
Zoom about Teen Mental Health, Wellness, and Resilience, 2-3pm: Teens will have the opportunity to learn from Pam Schuller, and participate in an activity about how to empower and uplift each other through the power of social media.The link to this meeting will be sent to all who register here.
