Dear Fellow Beth El Congregants,
Last year, on a balmy night in April, over 150 special needs residents of local group homes were guests of the synagogue at a very unique Special Needs Seder. There were many volunteers to share the joy of the Passover season with others. It was a magical night where couples, individuals and even entire families turned out in record numbers to provide a service for the greater Jewish community.
Once again this year, Beth El will be hosting the Lower Westchester Special Needs Seder, sponsored by WJCS and our Sylvia and Robert Scher Chesed Community. The Seder will be held on Monday evening, April 2nd, at 6:30 PM. We will need volunteers to help procure the various donated items, to help prepare the food on Sunday night, to help set up the room on Monday afternoon, to be table captains and wait staff during the Seder, and to help us clean up once the festivities are over. We welcome all of you who would like to give of yourselves in any of these different ways and make the Passover injunction of “Let all who are hungry come in and eat” a reality for our community.
If you would like to volunteer, please click here to complete the online form, telling us exactly how you would like to be part of this exciting venture. We know the experience will enhance your Passover celebrations and will certainly go a long way in providing an enriching experience for our special needs neighbors. We look forward to sharing the experience with you on that night!
Thank you in advance for your interest and/or participation. We look forward once again to a most moving and joyous experience for all!
Sincerely,
